- Five Soviet heart disease researchers visited the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology on November 4, 1974. The scientists were guests of Saint Louis University Medical Center as part of a U.S.-U.S.S.R. cooperative project on evaluating and treating ischemic heart disease. Pictured in this image from an issue of Focal Spot (Winter 1974) are, from left: Alex Rudzianko, interpreter; Dr. Joseph K. Rabkin; Dr. Zoya Z. Dorofeyeva; Dr. Ludmilla S. Matveyeva; Dr. Willman, chair of the Department of Surgery at Saint Louis University School of Medicine; Dr. Evens, director of Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology; Dr. Igor K. Shkhvatsabaya, director of the Myasnikov Institute of Cardiology; Dr. Tamara Y. Sidelnikova; and Tamara Holmes, interpreter.
