Dr. Anatoli Iv. Pirogov and Dr. Ekaterina Kiseleva of the Herzen Oncological Institute in Moscow visited the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology in November 1972, part of a tour of U.S. medical facilities arranged by the National Cancer Institute. The Programmed Console (PC) was a computer system developed by the Biomedical Computer Laboratory (BCL) for use in radiation treatment planning.
