W. Neal Newton
W. Neal Newton was born in Iowa in 1927 and is a 1951 graduate of the Washington University School of Dentistry. After his graduation Newton joined the faculty in the Department of Dental Pediatrics, where he served for almost twenty years. Newton served as an Army dental officer during the Korean War.
Dr. Newton is a fellow of the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He served six-year terms on the St. Louis County Community Health and Medical Care Advisory Board and the St. Louis County Health Commission. He also served a six-year term on the Advisory Board on Indian Health of the federal Department of Health, Education and Welfare.
Newton served as president for several dental organizations, including the Missouri Dental Association and the U.S.A. section of the International College of Dentists. In 1983 Newton was honored as Distinguished Alumnus by the Washington University School of Dental Medicine Alumni Association.
