“Powerful Grace Lies in Herbs and Plants”

William Salmon was one of the earliest and most successful writers on popular science and medicine in late seventeenth century England. He had little or no scientific or medical background but nevertheless had an impressive career as a self-styled physician. His remedies enjoyed great popularity. Salmon published more than a dozen books on medicine, surgery, anatomy, pharmacology, and astronomy in numerous editions, and he translated several Latin medical classics into English.

Botanologia is his major work on herbal medicine.
