Lifeboats aboard the S. S. St. Paul, 1917
Some of the lifeboats aboard the S. S. St. Paul, the ocean liner which transported personnel of Base Hospital 21 from New York to Liverpool in May 1917. Knowledge of the position of lifeboats was important, since the fear of German U-boat attack was not unfounded.
