By the Numbers
Women in the health science professions have made substantial gains over the years in terms of acceptance, participation, and leadership in their fields. The efforts and accomplishments of the early “pioneers” provided both inspiration and a path for other women to follow. Yet, there is still progress to be made. The health science professions are far from gender-neutral. Women continue to be under-represented in some fields and over-represented in others.
