Frequency gain chart for Canteen Receptor
The multicolor-line indicates how much louder, or softer, sounds of different pitches would be when using this device. Green portions of the line indicate pitches that would be louder while red portions indicate pitches that would be softer. The gray line represents no change in loudness.

For the Canteen Receptor, the loudness of some low-pitched sounds (frequency values of 380 to 560 Hz) and some medium-pitched sounds (frequency values of 660 to 1700 Hz; pitches that occur in many speech sounds) would be louder, but only by a modest amount (the highest “gain” is 6.5 dB at 800 Hz). Some very low- and very high-pitched sounds (frequency values less than 380 Hz and those greater than 2000 Hz) would be softer.
